Discontinued Product: 987 Gildan LS T-Shirt Hoodie

The garment manufacturer has discontinued the Gildan Long Sleeve Hoodie 987, so it has been removed from the CustomCat platform and can no longer be used to create new products. However, we will continue fulfilling orders for 987 while stock lasts, so existing listings can still be ordered until inventory is fully depleted.

We’re actively working on finding a replacement for this product and will keep you updated once it’s available. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition.

Discontinued Color Variant: Navy – 3537 Women’s Football Tee

The garment manufacturer has discontinued the variant listed below, and it is now removed from the CustomCat platform, so it can no longer be used to create new products.

We will continue fulfilling orders for this variant while stock lasts. Once inventory is depleted, it will no longer be available. If an order for this variant enters your error queue, please remove it from your store or remap it to an alternate product.

Art Template Update

We have recently updated all of our sublimation product art templates to provide more accurate and precise print areas. The new templates are designed to better match the full print area, allowing you to utilize a larger printable space and generate more accurate mockups.

While the old templates and designs will still print as they always have, we recommend switching to the new art guides for improved results. Both the mockup images and the final product will reflect more accurate dimensions, ensuring the best possible print quality. You can access these updated art guides on our Artwork Guidelines page.

Holiday Shipping Rates: Effective October 28, 2024

Our shipping partners’ holiday season shipping rate increases are scheduled to take effect next week. This will affect CustomCat’s shipping prices for economy, UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day, and UPS Overnight shipments as follows:

October 28, 2024 – January 19, 2025
$0.40 for all Economy Shipments within the contiguous US
$0.40 for UPS Ground Shipments

$2.00 for all Economy Shipments to AK/HI/PR
$2.00 for all UPS 2nd Day & Overnight Shipments

Please see attached shipping chart for updated rates.

If these changes affect your store, please make any necessary updates before the new rates take effect on October 28, 2024.

Please Note: These seasonal rate increases will not impact the shipping rates for single-ship items (Canvas, Posters, & Pillows).

The CustomCat offices & production facility will be closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day.

Now that another holiday season is in the books, it’s time to share some data. We ran the numbers on all orders processed between November 20 & December 20 to get to the bottom of just how incredible the 2023 holiday season really was.

– The highest facility wide average this holiday was only 1.4 Days!

Discontinued Product: Sublimated Baby Bodysuits, 2782 Moisture-Wicking Training Shorts

In order to continue providing the highest quality products, we have decided to remove our sublimated baby bodysuits (IO6M, IO12M, IO24M) from our product catalog in favor of a new style, decorated by DIGISOFT®. The sublimated style of this product has been removed from the CustomCat platform so it can no longer be used to create new listings.

We have added the Rabbit Skins 4424 Infant Fine Jersey Baby Bodysuit as a high quality alternative. This product is available in 5 sizes & 7 colors (including white, black, heather grey, light blue, pink, navy, & yellow).

The IO12M & IO24M are currently in stock. We will continue to fulfill orders for these garments while stock allows. However, once existing inventory is depleted, it will not be replenished.

If an order for a sublimated baby bodysuit enters your Error Queue, please remove that product from your store & substitute an alternative variant for your customer’s order.

As most of you know, our primary payment processor experienced a temporary outage beginning yesterday afternoon. We are very happy to announce that this issue has been resolved & you can now process orders via Credit Card & PayPal as usual.

If your CustomCat store settings are set to Automatic Order Processing, we will process your orders automatically & no action is required.

Thank you all for your patience while our payment processor resolved an issue causing payment attempts to fail. We apologize for the inconvenience it’s caused to delay your order processing.

No Shipping Rate Increases for 2023 Holiday Season

We’re very excited to announce that USPS is not imposing any peak season surcharges this year. Additionally, we’ve made the decision to absorb holiday rate increases for UPS shipments.

This means you can continue offering your customers the same great shipping prices throughout the holiday season as you have all year!

Product Export Updates

We’ve recently made some updates to our product export page that should be extra helpful this holiday season.

- - - - Real-time Export Progress Bar – The green progress indicator will move in real time as your export is completed.
        
        Export Failure Messaging – Your export bar will turn RED when a product export is unsuccessful
        
        Improved Export Error Reporting – The reason for your error will often be displayed on your export page. When it’s not, the export error can be retrieved by CustomCat staff. Please reach out to support if you need assistance resolving an export error.

Additionally, per Shopify’s updated requirements, we are now including a “Your Cost” field for all variants in your listing that aligns with your current CustomCat subscription product cost. This will allow you to utilize Shopify’s Profit Reports to calculate your profits on their platform.

Please note that because of the increased amount of data Shopify is requiring for this update, you may notice Shopify exports with a high number of variants may take longer than usual to complete.

Updates to 110z Black Mug Art Template

In an effort to optimize our print positioning, we have released a NEW 110z Black Mug art template in order to ensure the provided centering lines are accurate to the print. Additionally, our mockup generator has been updated for accuracy.

Please note that no adjustments have been made to the print area or overall artwork dimensions. Your existing artwork will continue to print as it always has. However, if you prefer to modify any existing artwork for improved positioning, you can use our new Art Template here.

Discontinued Product: 1844 Mesh Shorts

We’ve received word that the 1844 Moisture-Wicking 9 inch Inseam Mesh Shorts have been discontinued by Augusta. This style has been removed from the CustomCat platform so it cannot be used to create new listings.

All variants of this product are currently in stock.

We will continue to fulfill orders for this garment while stock allows. However, once existing inventory is depleted, it cannot be replenished.

Last week, we notified you of the potential for a UPS labor strike to occur if UPS & the International Brotherhood of Teamsters were unable to mutually agree on the terms of a new National Master Agreement.

We are very happy to announce that on Monday morning, UPS & the International Brotherhood of Teamsters have reached a contract agreement.

UPS Contract Negotiations

UPS & the International Brotherhood of Teamsters are negotiating a new National Master Agreement for approximately 330,000 U.S. employees.

While there is no way to predict the outcome of these negotiations with any certainty, there is a possibility that a labor strike could occur if all parties are unable to come to an agreement before August 1, 2023.

What would this mean for you?
If a labor strike occurs on August 1, shipments in transit with UPS’s expedited services (UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day, & UPS Next-Day Air) may be delayed. Please communicate the potential for delays with these shipments to your customers if you offer these shipping services in the days leading up to August 1.

Please note that economy shipments utilizing UPS shipping services are unlikely to be directly affected. However, there is potential for general transit delays to occur with all carriers in the event of UPS service interruptions due to shipping volume increases.

Required Shopify Update: July 1

On Saturday, July 1, Shopify will be deprecating their old API. In order for CustomCat to continue transmitting tracking data back to Shopify, the following changes will be required:

- - - - CustomCat must be listed as an Inventory Management Location in each listing. This change will happen automatically for all synced products.
        
        Update your Checkout > Order Processing settings to to “After an order has been paid, ‘Automatically Fulfill the order’s line items.‘” Please note that this is a general setting & will affect all orders, not just orders being fulfilled by CustomCat
        
        If you would prefer not update this general setting, you will need to click ‘request fulfillment’ on each Shopify order for the tracking information to sync from CustomCat to Shopify.
        
        If you do not update this setting OR “Request Fulfillment” on each individual order, we will be unable to update your order status to Fulfilled, sync tracking information, or trigger your store’s automated shipment notification emails.

Please review your General & Custom Shipping rate profiles to ensure your profiles contain the ‘CustomCat’ location. The CustomCat location will be added to your profiles by default — however, if it is manually removed from your shipping profile it will need to be manually added back to the profile.

Holiday Closure: July 4, 2023

CustomCat’s production facility & US-based offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Please note that this may result in delayed support responses due to reduced staffing.

However, we want to assure you that our order-related support services will continue to operate on July 4.

What is Full Front/Full Back?
Full Front & Full Back positioning will use the largest available print size for each garment to give you the most control over your the size of your design.

How to I find the largest print size for a garment?
We’ve standardized our print sizes to make this as easy as possible. You can find the exact maximum output sizes in our updated Art Guidelines & Best Practices.

That’s not all — we’ve also updated the size of the design box in our Custom Positioning interface to represent the maximum print size.

This means you will have more freedom to adjust the size & position of your designs with Custom Positioning. As with our Full Front positioning, the maximum print area listed below will be reached for size Large or X-Large & be scaled down proportionately based on garment size to look as similar to the generated mockup as possible. (This change will not affect existing listings using Custom positioning).

Discontinued Product: A130 Golf Polo

We’ve received word that the A130 Golf ClimaLite Basic Performance Pique Polo has been discontinued by its manufacturer. This style has been removed from the CustomCat platform so it cannot be used to create new listings.

We will continue to fulfill orders for these garments while stock allows. However, once existing stock is depleted, it cannot be replenished.

If an order for a particular variant enters your Error Queue, please remove that variant from your store & substitute an alternative variant.

Scheduled Subscription & Pricing Updates in Effect

As previously announced, our new subscription & catalog pricing updates scheduled for March 1, 2023 are now in effect. If you are a legacy account holder with an account created on or before January 5, 2023, these updates have now been applied to your account.

What has changed?

We are now applying CustomCat Subscription at the Account level, rather than to individual stores & specific integrations. This ensures our pricing policies are applied uniformly to all accounts.

This means that catalog pricing for our free account holders has been updated. Additionally, your subscription plan (either the free CustomCat Lite or paid CustomCat PRO) will dictate the catalog pricing applied to your account.

Is it too late to sign up for CustomCat PRO?

It’s never too late to make a change! If you were unable to select either a free or paid subscription in the time since our first announcement in January, free CustomCat Lite pricing has been applied to your account. However, you can update your account subscription at any time from within your CustomCat account settings. If you think CustomCat PRO is right for you, you can update your subscription at any time. You won’t want to miss the exclusive PRO-only discounts coming soon ($5 t-shirts are just the start)!

Shopify Updates Required for All New Products

On Tuesday, January 24, a required update that affects the Shopify Locations & Checkout Order Processing settings was released. This change will affect all new products exported to your Shopify store.

What’s changed?

- - - - All new products created from your CustomCat account will now have their Shopify inventory Location set to ‘CustomCat’.

What do you need to do?

- - - - In order to continue creating new products with CustomCat, you will need to reauthorize your Shopify connection. You will be prompted to do so when attempting to access your store via your CustomCat account or when attempting to access the CustomCat app from your Shopify account.
        
        In Shopify Admin, please update your Checkout > Order Processing settings to to “After an order has been paid, ‘Automatically Fulfill the order’s line items‘”
        
        If you do not update this general setting, you will need to click ‘request fulfillment’ on each Shopify order for the tracking information to sync from CustomCat to Shopify.
        
        If you do not update this setting OR “Request Fulfillment” on each individual order, we will be unable to update your order status to Fulfilled, sync tracking information, or trigger your store’s automated shipment notification emails.

*Please note: CustomCat products exported prior to Tuesday, January 24 do not require a CustomCat location be assigned to your Shipping profiles & can be fulfilled regardless of your Order Processing settings. However, making the updates noted above will not interrupt fulfillment of orders containing these products.

CustomCat Subscription Updates

As we continue to release core platform improvements early this year, we will be making a necessary update to how subscriptions work that will affect your account in the near future.

What is changing?

Until recently, CustomCat Pro subscriptions were administered through Shopify & available only to Shopify users. As our services have grown beyond Shopify, this created a number of challenges. Most significantly, this made it impossible to offer subscription benefits at the Account Level, causing some users to experience different pricing for different stores. To fix this, we are now applying CustomCat Subscription at the Account Level, so that Pro Subscribers enjoy the benefits across their entire account.

What does that mean for me?

If you signed up for CustomCat on or after January 5 of this year, your account will not change. If you signed up prior to January 5, nothing has changed for you yet.

However! As indicated above, there is a catalog pricing update scheduled for March 1, 2023 for legacy users. You will need to sign up for a PRO Subscription by March 1, 2023 or your account will automatically move to CustomCat Lite pricing & features. If you sign up for a subscription now, your pricing will be updated right away.

If you are currently subscribed through Shopify, we recommend canceling your subscription & subscribing to CustomCat PRO as soon as possible. See FAQ for additional information.

Winter Storm Warning in Midwest & Northeast Unites States

A severe winter storm is expected in the midwest & northeastern portions of the United States over the next 48 hours. This storm has the potential to cause service interruptions within UPS’s & USPS’s networks that may affect delivery of your packages.

Please monitor service alerts from UPS & USPS to stay up-to-date about any known interruptions.

This inclement weather has the potential to affect CustomCat’s production in the event of unsafe travel conditions or power outages. We will make you aware of any interruptions to our production capacity in the event that they occur.

Address Verification Errors

Last night, we were made aware of an error in our Address Verification System resulting in orders with valid shipping addresses failing address verification.

This issue was resolved shortly after it was discovered, but may have affected orders submitted on December 21 between 7pm & 10pm EST. If your orders were affected, you will find them in your CustomCat Error Queue.

Please note that these orders will need to be processed manually from your Error Queue as they will not be automatically reprocessed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this caused & thank you for your patience as it was being resolved.

Scheduled Holiday Closures

The CustomCat offices & production facility will be closed on December 24 & December 25, as well as December 31, & January 1 while our team members spend time with their loved ones.

We are experiencing a temporary stock interruption of our MSHM & MSHL Premium Mink Sherpa Blankets. As previously announced, VPL Cozy Plush Fleece Blankets are also temporarily out of stock.

Additional inventory of MSHL, MSHM, & VPL blankets is expected to arrive the last week of December.

Discontinued Product & New Replacement Product

We’ve received notice that the G123 Open-Bottom Sweatpants have been unexpectedly discontinued. In their place, we’ve added the 974MP Open-Bottom Sweatpants to our catalog.

- - - - Orders for the G123 in Black, Navy, or Sport Grey will be automatically remapped to the 974MP Black, Navy, & Oxford Grey. Your orders for those variants will be fulfilled without action. If you’d prefer not to utilize this automatic remapping, please use the My Products feature to update fulfillment or ignore fulfillment of these variants.
        
        Orders for the Maroon or Royal variants of the G123 Open-Bottom Sweatpants will enter your error queue, as we are unable to offer a suitable alternative.

If you are currently using our Etsy integration, your action is required.

As a result of Etsy’s recent API updates, all CustomCat x Etsy users will be required to reauthorize their connection with the CustomCat platform. This update will give you access to upcoming CustomCat platform feature updates & shield you from any future service interruptions related to Etsy deprecating their old API.

To reauthorize your connection, please click My Stores & Select your Etsy store from the dropdown menu. At the top of the screen, you will notice an alert to reauthorize. Click Update to reauthorize your Etsy connection.

Reminder: Old Embroidery Listings to Transition to DIGISOFT

When our apparel products were initially transitioned from embroidery to DIGISOFT® in August of this year, we added a setting to your CustomCat account to allow you to maintain embroidery decoration for all previously exported listings. Due to low demand for embroidered apparel since this transition, we will no longer be offering an embroidered option for old apparel listings after Monday, October 31, 2022.

As previously announced, all apparel orders will be fulfilled with DIGISOFT® decoration beginning November 1, 2022.

*Embroidered hats will not be affected.

You can transition your apparel products early by adjusting your CustomCat settings to automatically Migrate Embroidery Products to DIGISOFT®. However, beginning November 1, those products will be migrated automatically.

We’ve received word that the G540L Ladies’ Cotton Long Sleeve T-Shirt & G240B Youth Long Sleeve T-Shirt have been discontinued by their manufacturer.

Your existing G240B listings will automatically be fulfilled with G540B stock — no action is necessary for this change to occur.

As stock for the G240B Youth Long Sleeve T-Shirt is depleted, orders for depleted variants will be fulfilled with the G540B Youth Long Sleeve T-Shirt. These 2 products have the same size charts & color options available.

We currently have limited available stock in the G540L Ladies’ Cotton Long Sleeve T-Shirt. When existing stock is depleted, it will not be replenished.

DIGISOFT® production is back on track. We can confidently say that the apparel production delays experienced between the end of August & mid-September are behind us. New apparel orders are consistently shipping within 1-3 business days, with further improvements in apparel production times on the horizon.

If you have any outstanding DIGISOFT® orders processed between August 27 & September 15, please reach out to our support team so they can resolve any issues.

As a result of significant process optimization, the installation of new equipment, & enhanced data analysis facility-wide, we anticipate DIGISOFT® production times will continue to improve leading up to the holiday season.

USPS Holiday Shipping Rates: October 2, 2022

USPS has announced temporary Peak Season Shipping Rate increases that will affect CustomCat’s shipping rates for most domestic economy shipments.

Rates will be affected by between $0.10 & $0.40, depending on parcel size & weight.

Please refer to the shipping charts linked below for rates for single-ship items. Highlighted rates have been adjusted as a result of these temporary shipping rate increases.

DIGISOFT™ Production Update

As you know, we have been experiencing increased production times over the last several weeks as a result of transitioning our entire production facility from DTG to DIGISOFT™ printing.

However, over the last several days we have seen a significant reduction in the number of delayed apparel orders in our production queue. We anticipate shipping all delayed orders & returning to the lightning-fast apparel production times you expect very soon.

Beginning tomorrow, we anticipate Lead Times for new orders to be ~5 business days. This means that we expect orders processed tomorrow to ship by the end of next week. Additionally, turnaround times should return to normal (1-3 business days) by the end of next week.

While we know this transition has been a challenge for those of you with delayed orders, these growing pains have allowed us to optimize our production processes in order to run smoothly at full capacity when seasonal demand really increases in a few months.

We want to extend a sincere thank you for your patience & we are looking forward to a brilliant winter holiday season as your production partner.

Order-Related Support Tickets

We have determined that a small number of order-related tickets submitted on September 14 through the CustomCat Platform were not delivered to our support team. Unfortunately, these tickets were unable to be recovered.

DIGISOFT® Production Update

We feel & understand your frustration over current DIGISOFT® production times, so we wanted to provide more context to better inform you about:
1) The cause of the current backlog
2) How we’re attacking the problem
3) Why you should feel confident going forward

1) Preparation for DIGISOFT® has been underway for well over a year. In that time, we tested tens of thousands of prints, ran volume studies, implemented new processes, upgraded machinery & systems, & trained hundreds of employees. It has been a massive undertaking.Even with all this preparation, certain types of issues cannot be simulated or anticipated until commercial scale production begins. This is especially the case for DIGISOFT® – a cutting edge technology undergoing its first commercial implementation anywhere in the world.

While the majority of this transition went as expected, printing at commercial scale means small issues can stack up quickly. Last week, our production team began to see an increased rate of quality control cancellations, with design clarity & color falling short of the standard we had come to expect from DIGISOFT®. The order delays you are experiencing are a result of identifying & fixing the causes of these issues.

2) In just the past week we have identified & implemented significant improvements to the DIGISOFT® production process, including:

- - - - 2X machine & output capacity from the week prior
        
        Software, database, & processing power enhancements to more quickly communicate your designs to our printers
        
        Color reprofiling to improve print accuracy & vibrancy
        
        Print head recalibration for fine-tuning ink quantities & distribution
        
        Improved ink curing processes & machinery
        
        Optimized the Rush Work Order process to speed up reprints after QC cancellations
        
        Enhanced data analysis & performance tracking tools facility-wide
        
        Hands on training with print operators

Our production team & engineers are working around the clock to return fulfillment times to the lightning fast standard you expect. We believe we have identified & fixed every significant issue affecting production times, & expect capacity to increase going forward as additional machines are brought online before the holiday rush.

3) A transition of this magnitude is an exciting & difficult challenge, & one we knew we had to execute now in order to make DIGISOFT® fully available to our partners for the upcoming holiday season. While we know this past week has been a challenge for those of you with delayed orders, believe us when we say, these growing pains have allowed us to identify issues & optimize our production processes NOW, so we’ll be running smoothly at full capacity when demand really increases in a few months.

While there will still be some delays in the present, we anticipate returning to the fast production times you have come to expect in the very near future. We will continue to provide as much information as we can about when production times are expected to normalize.

Late Tuesday night, Etsy’s platform experienced an error that caused all apps to lose their connection to their platform. While the issue has been resolved by Etsy, you are required to re-authorize CustomCat’s connection to your store to maintain use of the Etsy integration.

Please do not delete your Etsy store from your CustomCat account.

If you experience an issue with your Etsy store connection, please follow the steps below to reauthorize your connection.

We will begin collecting sales tax on all non-exempt transactions shipping within 7 additional US states beginning June 1, 2022: Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Nebraska, & Oklahoma.

CustomCat is legally required to collect sales tax on goods purchased in several US states unless documentation is submitted indicating our transactions with your business are exempt from taxation.

For more information about the types of business that may qualify for tax exemption (like those selling exclusively on marketplaces), states in which CustomCat will charge sales tax, & a step-by-step tutorial on submitting tax exemption certificates within the CustomCat app, please visit our Tax FAQ page.

If you’ve already submitted an exemption certificate to CustomCat, please review your CustomCat Taxes tab to determine whether you have a valid certificate for the states listed above. Processed exemption forms are displayed within the “Taxes” section of your CustomCat account settings. If your certificate for a particular state is not listed, please resubmit it through the in-app module. Please note exemption certificates only apply in the state listed — you may need to submit a separate certificate for other states in which you have an exemption.

Discontinued Products: Woven Blankets

We’ve received word that our woven blankets (WB68 & WB56) have been discontinued by their manufacturer.

There is unfortunately no remaining stock in the WB68 60″x80″ Woven Blanket. Please remove this item from your stores if you are currently offering it to your customers.

We currently have a small amount of stock of the WB56 50″x60″ Woven Blanket remaining. When existing stock is depleted, it will not be replenished.

If an order for a woven blanket enters your error queue, the item status will be listed as “Discontinued” & we will not be able to fulfill that order.

Discontinued Products: F20 & Black/Red B990S

We’ve received word that the F20 Unisex Flannel Pants have been discontinued by their manufacturer. Additionally, the Red/Grey variant of the BG990S Small Colorblock Sport Duffel Bag has been discontinued — all other colors will remain active.

We currently have limited available stock in the F20 Unisex Flannel Pants. When existing stock is depleted, it will not be replenished. There is no remaining available stock of the Red/Grey variant of the BG990S.

If an order for a particular F20 variant enters your error queue in the coming weeks, please remove that variant from your store as no additional stock will be made available.

Shipping Price Increase: 24″x24″ & 24″x36″ Posters

As a result of new fees applied by the United States Postal Service on non-standard packages >22″ in length, the shipping rate for 24″x24″ & 24″x36″ posters will be increasing from $7.00 to $9.00 on Sunday, April 3.

Additionally, the shipping rate for the 16″x24″ posters will be reduced from $7.00 to $5.00.

Please make any required adjustments to your store’s shipping rates prior to this change. Updated shipping rates are available in the chart below, as well as in our Poster Selling Guide.

Effective immediately, all orders for Z65 & Z66 will be mapped to G180 & G185 in all sizes & colors. No updates need to be made to any existing listings — this change will happen automatically.

To avoid confusion, the style numbers have reverted to G180 & G185 in the CustomCat app. Z65 & Z66 will no longer be active products in the catalog.
