In a perfect world, every product you export would be flawless & never need any adjustment. However, you’ll likely find dozens of reasons you want to make adjustments to either your product listing or the way we fulfill your orders for that product.

Whether you want to update one of your design files, re-export a listing when a product variant is out of stock, or add a newly released color variant to an existing listing, we make it easy to keep your products up to date.

Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about managing your products (& product listings) from your CustomCat account.

We make viewing & editing your CustomCat products from within the CustomCat platform easy.

In order to see all your product listings, click “My Products” in the left navigation menu, then select the store for the products you’d like to view.

Please note that page load time is dependent on the number of listings in your store. This will take the longest the first time you view your products.

On the My Products page, we have your products organized into tabs for easy access.

  • The Synced tab will include all products with variants being fulfilled by CustomCat.
  • The Not Synced tab will include all listings for that store that do not include any products or product variants being fulfilled by CustomCat.

Your products will be listed with the most recently created or edited products at the top of the page.

From this page, you can see:

  • Primary Listing Image
  • Product Title
  • Style of the CC product used to fulfill orders for that listing.
  • Last Updated Date
  • Variant Sync Status
  • Inventory Alerts

Inventory Alert Types:

  • Variant Temporarily Out of Stock
  • Variant Discontinued
  • No Synced Variants
  • No valid SKUs

From our actions menu on the right hand side of the screen, you can

  • Update details related to the fulfillment of your listings, including updating your design & Modifying the product or variant we use to fulfill orders for that listing.
  • Create an order for any synced product variants
  • Edit the listing information & re-export to your website
  • Tell CustomCat to IGNORE orders for this product. Ignored products will not be fulfilled by CustomCat.
  • View or Edit the product listing on your website, or
  • Delete the product listing from your website.

You can also access this information for a specific product immediately after export by clicking Edit Product in CustomCat.

After your store to your CustomCat account, it’s easy to sync product listings that were not created with CustomCat.

First, click “My Products” in the left navigation menu & select your store from the dropdown menu.

Here, you’ll see all of your products listed – both those that were created within the CustomCat platform & those that were created elsewhere.

To view only products that were not created within the CustomCat platform & have not been synced to our fulfillment, click the Not Synced tab. Your products will be listed with the most recently edited at the top of the page. Here, you see a summary of product information from your listing.

In order to sync this product to CustomCat fulfillment, click Update Fulfillment on the right hand side of the screen.

To sync your first variant, click “Sync” on the right side of the screen. This will bring you into our product catalog, where you can select a product from the CustomCat catalog.

After selecting your product, variant color & size may be automatically selected if there is an exact match between the original & the CustomCat product variant names. If not, please make variant selections & click Confirm.

After clicking confirm to save your changes, you’ll return to the Product Fulfillment details page.

To apply the changes we made to all the variants in the listing, we’ll click the 3 dots below ReSync, then select Sync to All Variants to apply your changes to all variants.

If your original product & your newly selected product have matching variant color names, your variants will be synced automatically. Please review the list of variants for messages about syncs that may require more action, such as those which do not have an exact color variant name match.

Please note that these changes will only affect fulfillment of your item & will not overwrite listing information.

That’s it! You’ve successfully synced your product to CustomCat fulfillment.

There are some scenarios where you may prefer to update your product listing information from CustomCat rather than navigating to your ecommerce platform to make changes.

For example, we make it easy to update things like:

  • Price
  • Variants offered
  • Mockup Images
  • Product description
  • Tags & Collections

Functionality may vary based on whether you have all variants within your listing synced to CustomCat.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what features are available based on how many variants are synced:

  • If all variants are synced to CustomCat, AND all variants match the parent product, you can use all the features of the Edit Listing feature.
  • If all variants are synced to CustomCat, BUT some variants don’t match the parent product, you can only edit product level data (description, title). Grouped listings fall into this category.
  • If not all variants are synced to CustomCat, you can only edit product level data (description, title)
  • If no variants are synced to CustomCat, the edit listing feature is unavailable for that listing.

If you’d like to edit your product listing for synced or partially-synced product listings:

  • Click My Products in the left navigation menu, then
  • Select your store from the dropdown menu.

Please note that page load time is dependent on the number of listings in your store. This will take the longest the first time you view your products.

Select the Synced tab, then find the product listing you’d like to update.

Click the 3 dots on the right side of the screen, then select “Edit Listing”

Click on your product to open up the Listing Editor. From here, you can edit any information contained in the listing. If you’d like to export updated mockups after modifying your design, click “Overwrite Mockups” before clicking Confirm to save your changes. The “Overwrite Mockups” feature is not available for Etsy integrations, but new mockups will be exported if you add new variant colors to your listing.

Now, click Export Edits products on the left side of the screen to be brought to the confirmation page. To overwrite existing listing information with your changes, click Confirm.

Once your export has completed, you can view the listing in your store by clicking “Edit in Store” or view the product within the CustomCat platform by clicking “Edit in CustomCat”

If you’re logged in to your ecommerce platform, clicking Edit in Store will open a new tab in your web browser that brings you into the listing details view on your ecommerce platform. Here, you can confirm the listing has been updated appropriately.

And that’s it! You’ve now successfully edited your product listing details from your CustomCat account.

There are many reasons you may want to update the fulfillment of your products after exporting them to your store.

From the CustomCat platform, you can edit anything related to the fulfillment of your listings, including the design or the products used to fulfill orders for items in that listing.

In order to see all your product listings, click “My Products” in the left navigation menu, then select the store for the products you’d like to view.

Please note that page load time is dependent on the number of listings in your store. This will take the longest the first time you view your products.

If listing updates are made on your ecommerce platform & you don’t see those changes reflected in your CustomCat account, you can click “Refresh” to retrieve updated data on all your listings.

Since we plan to update a CustomCat product in this tutorial, we’ll move to the “Synced” tab so we’re only looking at products being sent to CC for fulfillment. Any product with at least 1 variant Synced to CustomCat will be listed in the “Synced” tab.

On the My Products page, your products will be listed with the most recently created or edited products at the top of the page.

If you want to edit anything related to fulfillment, such as design or garment, Click Update Fulfillment.

Please note that these changes will only affect fulfillment of your item & will not overwrite listing information. To edit your product listing information, you will need to re-export your products. For detailed information about this process, please see our tutorial on How to Edit Product Listings From Your CustomCat Account.

From here, you can see:

  • All the variants in the listing
  • The mockup images associated with each variant
  • Stock Alerts
  • Sync Status
  • List Price
  • Product currently being used to fulfill that listing
  • & fulfillment cost for that item

If you’d like to make changes to the fulfillment of that product variant, click “ReSync”

This will bring you to our Product Editor. Here, you can make changes to anything related to back-end fulfillment of that particular variant. You’ll notice that we display your original product mockup, color, & size information at the top of the Product Editor – just in case you forget which product variant you were modifying.

You may choose to update the fulfillment of a particular product variant if there are:

  • stock availability issues
  • a discontinued product color
  • a discontinued product style

To update the product size or color, simply update the selection & click Save Product. If you’d like to remap the variant to an entirely different catalog product, you can click “Select a Different Product”

From here, you’ll enter our product catalog. You can browse products by category to find a similar product to the one in your original listing. In this example, we’ll select the Z61x t-shirt to replace the NL3600 variant in our listing – a great way to increase our margins with a similar item. Next, we’ll select the most similar garment color & size.

After clicking Save Product save our changes, we’ll return to the Product Fulfillment details page.

In order to apply the changes we made to the entire listing, we’ll click the 3 dots below ReSync, then select Sync to All Variants to apply our changes to all variants in the listing.

You can also choose to apply these changes to any individual variant (rather than all variants) by clicking the 3 dots below ReSync next to that variant & selecting “Map to ‘Style’”

If your original product & your newly selected product have matching variant color names, your variants will be automatically mapped to the correct variant. Please review the variants after syncing for messages about syncs that may require more action, such as those which do not have an exact color variant name match.

Updating your Design:

You may want to update the design associated with your listing if you

  • Notice an error in your design
  • Want to edit your design placement
  • Want to update your design colors
  • Increase the resolution of your image for better print outcomes

To upload or select a different design for this variant, click the Design tab on the left hand side of the product editor. From here, you can upload a new design file from your computer, or select one from your design library.

If you’d like to add an additional print area or modify your design positioning, you can do so here as well.

Click “Save Product” to save your changes & you’ll be returned to the Product Fulfillment details page.

If you’d like to apply the changes you made to the entire listing, click the 3 dots below ReSync, then select Sync to All Variants to apply your changes to all variants in the listing.

If you’d like for CustomCat to ignore orders for certain variants (if, for instance, you have inventory for those variants & will be fulfilling those yourself), you can click Ignore to keep us from retrieving orders for those variants. If at any time you’d like us to resume fulfillment of orders for those variants, click “Ignored” to undo that action.

And that’s everything you need to know about Updating the Fulfillment of your Synced Product Listings!
